Dunwood Park Bowling

This page offers information about bowling at Dunwood Park. There are details of how to come down and have bowl just by yourself, and lots of information about our Bowling club. It also has a link to the up-to-date league tables and fixture list so you can follow how our teams are doing in the leagues this year.  A form is provided which allows you get more specific information, especially if you're interested in joining our teams. In the near future, our improved facilities will include a newly renovated pavilion, new toilets and a comfortable place to watch the action, even if the weather turns a bit chilly, which it obviously never does in Oldham.

Bowling has been a part of Dunwood Park since son after it was opened. It's great way to meet people, enjoy an outdoor sport and everyone can join in no matter how old or young. Our Crown Green Bowling Green is still the same as the original and presents several challenges to even the most experienced bowler.

If you'd like to spend a relaxing time in really pleasant surroundings, why not come down for a few hours. The teams play matches on Monday evening, (Chadderton Men's League) Tuesday evenings, (Oldham Ladies League), Thursday afternoon (Oldham Veterans Leagues 1 and 3) Saturday mixed team in the Oldham Parks League and on Sunday afternoons here is a Round Robin starting at 1.00pm which is open to all commers. This is an excellent way to get started.

   

Bowling Club

The current  President of the Dunwood Bowling club is Mr Percival. He has bowled here for many years and kindly offers his time to help oganise the teams.

"We are aiming to develop the bowling club activity. This will include five Teams:

Monday team - playing on Mondays
Ladies team - playing on Tuesdays
Two Veterans teams - playing on Thursdays
Park league - playing on Saturdays
Open Round Robin - every Sunday of Season."
